5 Step Renting Guide

For those new to renting property, the process may seem daunting at first. But fear not, we have put together this simple, zero jargon guide to get you through to the other side.

1. Before starting your property search

To make sure you have everything in place, keep in mind that you will have to pay a security deposit to the landlord; this is typically One months rent in advance. You will also need documents to confirm your identity, immigration status, credit history and employment status, so it’s best to get these documents ready as soon as you can! 2. Finding a place to rent

Have a think about where it is you want to rent. Do you need to be close to your place of work? Local schools? Do you need to be close to transport links? Not sure where to start – let your Property Matchmaker know what it is you’re looking for and we will help you find the perfect home!

3. Arranging your rental

Now you’ve found where it is you’d like to live; you will need to complete paperwork to validate your ID, Immigration Status and Employment. You will then sign off your Tenancy Agreement confirming everything that is agreed between you and the landlord.

4. Paying your rental deposit

You will be required to pay a deposit prior to the tenancy starting. Make sure you ask your landlord or Property Matchmaker for the Tenancy Deposit Certificate so you have all the information you need to retrieve it, once your tenancy has ended.

5. Collect your keys and enjoy your new home!
